Mercy Shibalabala, popularly known as “Mercy the Soloist,” is a gospel artist originally from Zambia and currently based in South Africa. She began singing at the age of seven and dedicated her life to music ministry at twelve. Since then, she has faithfully used her musical gift to inspire, encourage, and lead people closer to God through worship and song.
Over the years, Mercy has had the privilege of ministering at several significant events, including the 2025 General Conference Session in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, and The Big Sabbath with Pastor Ted Wilson in South Africa, experiences she regards as some of the biggest achievement sof her ministry journey.
Mercy remains actively involved in music ministry, regularly ministering at church services, evangelistic campaigns, conferences, and concerts. Her ministry has taken her to churches and communities across Arizona state in the United States of America, as well as South Africa, Zambia, and Namibia, where she continues to share the message of hope and faith through gospel music.
With a passion for ministry through music, Mercy hopes to expand her reach globally, inspiring and uplifting people from all walks of life.
Ministry with purpose
Beyond her music ministry, Mercy holds a Masters in Biotechnology from the University of Johannesburg. She is passionate about education and has a deep love for
children.
Through her ministry, she founded a “Fill Up My School Bag” initiative, dedicated to support underprivileged school children by providing essential school supplies to enhance their learning experience. Fully funded through the music ministry, this initiative has already supported a few children in primary school and by God's grace more will be supported. Her desire is to instill hope in children for a brighter future.
